T1D Exchange and the American Diabetes Association® have partnered to host a conference to address health equity in diabetes.
Minoritized people with diabetes are more likely to have suboptimal glycemic outcomes, more likely to experience severe events such as diabetes ketoacidosis (DKA) and have higher mortality rates. This adds undue burden on quality of life and health care costs. Diabetes health equity can be addressed with innovative, practical, interventions. New equitable solutions should be amplified and scaled to the broader diabetes population.
ANNOUNCING THE FIRST ANNUAL ADEPT CONFERENCE
“Achieving Diabetes Equity in Practice Today”
The ADEPT Conference will bring together stakeholders who share a common interest in improving health equity in diabetes. The event will emphasize collective learning, showcase emerging best practices, and facilitate the dissemination of practical, evidence-based solutions to address health equity in diabetes. Attendees will build connections with a network of health equity champions.
Speakers and panelists will present health equity solutions for type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, and gestational diabetes. The conference will expose attendees to real world best practices, tested interventions and collaborative discussions.
The American Diabetes Association and T1D Exchange are pleased to join forces to improve health equity in diabetes. Collaborating to host this conference unifies the shared vision and unique talents of the ADA and T1D Exchange, allowing us to better fight for those living with diabetes alongside a trusted partner.
